Alice Jane Tranmer was born on Nov. 21, 1936, in Batavia, New York, to Ward Fisher and Anna (Valder) Fisher Sprenkle. She was the fourth of 10 children. Alice passed away on Nov. 21, 2024 (her 88th birthday) at her home in Tekamah, Nebraska.
Alice married Raymond Tranmer on June 20, 1954. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2024. To this union three children were born — Lois Goodwin, Diane Cain (Jim), and David Tranmer (Lori).
Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed camping, gardening, quilting, playing cards and just visiting with family and friends. She was a dedicated, hard worker at home, on the farm, and at other jobs, retiring from Desoto Engineering after 20-plus years.
Alice is survived by her husband; children; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Brice; sister’s-in-law: Helen Norris, Janice Robinson (Bill) and Yvonne Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ward and Anna; in-laws: Wilber and Frances Tranmer; eight siblings; brothers and sister’s in-law; nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, 2 p.m., at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah.
VISITATION: Tuesday, 5-7 pm at Pelan Funeral Services in Tekamah
