Bret Michael Beebe, beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend, passed away on December 5, 2024, after a courageous battle with a serious illness. He was preceded in death by his grandfather’s Bernie Ipson and Ronald Beebe, his uncle Rick Ipson, and his aunt Kolleen Otte.
Bret was a gifted artist and musician. He began playing the piano at the age of five and achieved the highest distinction at the University of Nebraska Omaha. He later learned the trumpet and was talented in drawing, creating beautiful works such as a self-portrait and a touching image of his hands in prayer.
In addition to his artistic talents, Bret was athletically gifted, excelling in baseball and basketball until he chose to focus on the arts and theater in high school. He was an active member of show choir, concert choir, and a cappella choir, and performed in numerous musicals and one-act plays.
Bret had a unique ability to make everyone feel loved and included. He was the center of attention at every gathering, bringing humor, mischievous and joy to all around him. His presence was always felt, and he had a special way of making people feel special.
Bret grew up in Blair and graduated from Blair High School. After high school, Bret worked at Jake’s Bar and Grill as a cook. He took great pride in the dishes he prepared. Everyone complemented his meals and came in when he was working to have him cook their lunch or dinner. He went on to work at McDonald's, where he excelled and was working towards becoming a general manager. Despite having many friends, Bret was especially close to his core group, who shared a special bond and nicknames.
Bret was unapologetically himself, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Bret is Survived by his parents; Kim and Mike Beebe, sister; Ashlie Socha, brother; Thomas (Emily) Beebe, nephews; Jaxson Socha and Grayson Beebe; grandmothers; Judy Ipson and Roma Beebe, aunt; Karen (Jeff) Riepl, cousins; Trevor (Brittany) Egbarts, Josh Egbarts, Madie (Taylor) Hill, Holland, Tina (Shane) Sears, and Shaurice McKee, uncle; Greg (Jamie) Beebe and Jillian and Josie.
