Hooper—The funeral for Ervin B. Pronske, 96, of Hooper, Nebraska, formerly of Ueling, Nebraska, will be 10am Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Hooper.
He died Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Hooper Care Center in Hooper.
He was born September 13, 1904 in Summerfield, Kansas. He attended Mount Hope Public School in Waterville, Kansas, and also attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas for blacksmithing.
He married Elsie M. Blanke February 10, 1929 in Waterville.
He was a farmer. He farmed in Waterville before moving to the Hooper and Uehling areas in 1952. His farm was three miles east of Uehling and he was active in farming there from 1952 until he retired in August, 1985. He moved to Fremont, Nebraska in 1985. His spouse died May 30, 1981. He had been a resident at Hooper Care Center since February, 1999.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Hooper.
Left to cherish his memory include two sons, LaRue (Theresa) Pronske of Craig, Nebraska and Ron (Kay) Pronske of Fremont; three daughters, Lura (Don) Johanson of Oakland, Carol “Kelly” (Dean) Ruwe of Troy, Ohio ad Janet (Richard) Marlar of Fremont; a sister, Wilma Spitzer of Chicago, Illinois; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Rodney Meske will officiate Saturday’s service. Visitation is 2-9pm Friday at Warne-Johnson Funeral home in Hooper, with family receiving friends from 6-8pm. Burial will be in Immanuel Cemetery in rural Hooper.
Memorials are suggested to The Lutheran Hour or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
