We welcome friends and family to join us in honoring the life of Debra Kay Fisher, known fondly as Deb. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday January 3, 2025. A visitation with family will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 5:00 pm at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, located at 444 South 17th Street, Blair, Nebraska. The memorial service will be held the following day, Thursday, January 9, at 1:00 pm at the same location, with graveside services following in the Blair Cemetery.
Born on October 13, 1956, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Deb was raised in Manson and Webster City, Iowa. Deb attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Education and Social Work. She later attended the University Of Nebraska at Omaha where she earned a double Master's Degree in Education and Social Work. Deb worked for the Department of Health and Human Services for the State of Nebraska for over 25 years. She was very proud of her work creating emergency responses for families in crisis and helping children find permanent families. Deb then created Nebraska Family Advantage to focus on preserving and strengthening families throughout the State of Nebraska.
Deb is survived by her loving husband, Michael Fisher; her children: Timothy (Shana) Clapper, Amanda (Nicholas) Reznicek, Heather Fisher, and Adam (Nellie) Fisher; her grandchildren: Bailey, Lauren, Breck, Benjamin, Nicole, Jaxon, Zander, Hudson and Everett; and her brother Tim Gilbert.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Marian (Nielsen) Gilbert, and her brother Jon Gilbert. Debra's memory will be cherished and her legacy will continue to thrive through the lives she touched.
