Randy Lee Fagerquist, 70 yrs Fairborn, OH passed away on Saturday, June 15 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, OH. He was born on July 22, 1953 to Gerald and Patricia "Tooty" (Hall) Fagerquist in Fremont, Nebraska.

Randy grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School in 1971. Following graduation he joined the Air Force. Basic training was in Biloxi, MS followed by being stationed in Alamogordo, NM. He spent some time in Thailand during his time in the service. Following the service, he attended UNK for a short time before transferring to UNL where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, his Master's degree in Physics and also his PhD in Physics. He worked as Senior Scientist at Eastman Kodak and subsidiaries following his schooling.

Randy was honored by the Arlington Education Foundation in 2011.

Randy is survived by his siblings Julie (Will) Sheets of Omaha, Rusty Fagerquist & special friend (Linda Holloran) of Millard and Jody (Marvin) Meier of Arlington; special friend, Jenace Yurchisin, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ray and Mirtie Fagerquist, and Lawrence and Maude Hall; his mother Patricia; aunt and uncles –Merle (Ion) Hall, Marilyn (Joe) Wilkens, Eleanor (LeoRay (Buster)) Rosenkilde; Elaine (Ervin) Larsen, cousin Linda Shepard and Mike Fagerquist.

His service will be held together with his father, Gerald Fagerquist, 2 P.M, on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle with Rev. Allison Siburg officiating. Randy had his body donated to science.
