James Andersen, an old time and highly respected resident of Craig
township in Burt county, 12 miles to the northeast of Hooper, and
an uncle of Mrs. J. R. Bott of this city, passed away Sunday, April
21, 1929, following a lengthy illness from ailments incident to old
age.
Mr. Andersen had attained the age of 80 years, 7 months and 18
days, he having been born in Denmark September 18, 1848. He came
to this country when a young man and for a time was engaged in
railroading in Wyoming. Over forty years ago he settled on the
farm in Burt county that had been his home ever since.
Mrs. Andersen died a number of years ago, and the close surviving
relatives are the four children who reside in the community
northeast of Hooper. These are Mrs. James Olsen, Mrs. Alfred
Andersen, Albert and Julius Andersen.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from
the Danish church in the Admah vicinity.
