Edith Gay (Kelly) White of Tekamah, Nebraska passed away on February 4th, 2025.

Gay was born in Tekamah on August 19th, 1935 on the family farm north of Tekamah the third child of Clarence and Edith Kelly. After graduating from Tekamah High School in 1952, she attended Doane College where she met Neal White. On November 19th, 1954, she and Neal were married. They had three children, Wade, Janelle, and Becky.

Gay dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother and farm housewife, something she excelled at. She truly was the foundation of the family. While raising her children, Gay kept the kids and family active in many activities in the community including 4-H activities, showing horses on a multi-state basis, local saddle club-served as Tekamah rodeo secretary for years she was on the School Board and Election Board. She was very dedicated to her community working for the Plaindealer, volunteering for the Food Pantry and taking part in the Dance and Card Clubs.

Gay is preceded in death by her parents, husband Neal White, daughter, Becky Rocca White, son, Stephen Michael White, brother Clarence (Curly) Kelly Jr and sister Barb Hancock, she is survived by her son, Wade White, daughter, Janelle (John) Guisto White, grandchildren Kelly Dyvig, Kasey (Jordan) Reyes, Matlock White and four great grandchildren.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Saturday, February 15, 2025, 2 p.m., at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah, NE.
