Andrew “AJ” Klein, 38 years, of Fremont, NE, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025, with family by his side at Nye Legacy in Fremont.
Andrew was born on January 15, 1987, in Columbus, NE. He grew up in Fremont and was a 2005 graduate of Fremont High. He joined the Army directly after graduation and served 11 years with a tour in Iraq. After leaving the Army, Andrew joined the Nebraska National Guard and worked at Purina in Fremont, later taking a job with Eclipse Advantage in Blair, NE.
Andrew enjoyed fishing and camping with his daughters, shooting at the range, as well as attending Renaissance fairs, dirt track races and demolition derbies.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Tiny Kruger, and Elmer and Mary Geu.
He is survived by his daughters, Jazmine and Izzy Klein; parents Roxanne and Tom Kruger; twin brother, Chris (Sandy) Klein; sister, Shauna (Zach) Carlson; nieces, Saphira and MaryEllen; and nephew, Markus.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Chaplain Jillian Petersen will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Moser’s and will continue 1 hour prior to the service at Moser’s.
Memorials may be given either to local DAV or local cancer foundations.
Burial with military honors will take place at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
