Daniel “Deacon” Andreasen, age 75 of Blair, passed away February 20, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Blair. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Daniel was born on August 9, 1949, in St. Paul, Nebraska, the son of John Jacob Sr. and Helen Marie (Boruch) Andreasen. He was raised in Blair, Nebraska, and graduated from Blair High School in 1967. After high school he went on to attend Dana College, graduating in 1971 with a degree in business. Daniel worked in the construction trades for many years and owned his own business. For many years Daniel played keyboard in a local band in the surrounding area. Daniel will always be remembered for his sense of humor and love of his family and friends.

Daniel had a devout Christian faith that guided him through his lifetime. He enjoyed nature and loved to travel and hike in the national parks and forests all over the country.

He is survived by his siblings; twin sister Diane Wigg, and sisters Mary Shanks and Jane (Michael) Swain, sister-in-law Karen Andreasen, many nieces and nephews, and his dear friend and caretaker Eddy Boucher, lifelong friend David O'Hanlon, along with extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John “Jake” Andreasen Jr., brother-in-law Rocky Shanks, and his great nephew Jett Andreasen.
