Patricia Ann West, age 88 of Blair, passed away suddenly Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. Following Patricia's wishes no public services will be held.
Patricia was born Nov. 29, 1936 in Hastings, Nebraska, the daughter of Clarence Eldrege and Freida Agnes (Schouborg) Haines.
Patricia was employed by Dana College in Blair from 1999 until 2007. She was loved by many students and faculty. She would often tell the students to take advantage of their youth and make the best of their schooling. She would often remind them that they had plenty of time to “play” after they achieved an excellent education.
Patricia loved playing cards and bingo with her many friends. She was a lifelong Husker fan and also cheered for the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs.
“Mom, you did life well, and we are thankful for you.”
She is survived by her children Jamie (Kathy) Sell of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jody (Herb) Paul of Uehling, Nebraska; grandchildren: Jeremy (Carey) Sell, Robby (Allie) Graham, Mandy (Jake) Loftis, Kyle (Jerri) Graham, Candace (Mark) Smith, Christina (Vince) Barnett, along with 19 great-grandchildren, and niece Sandy (Scott) Frazier, along with extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Debra Rush, son Ricky Sell, brother Chuck Haines and sister Marlys Anderson.
