Lyle Dean Ray, age 77 of Omaha, passed away March 20, 2025, at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Graveside services will follow in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, March 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Dean was born on February 29, 1948, in Omaha, NE, and was raised in Blair, Nebraska. He graduated from Blair High School in 1966. On June 26, 1970, he was united in marriage to Carol Lemley. The family lived in Blair until 1995 when they moved to Omaha. Dean worked as a carpenter throughout his lifetime. After beginning employment at Kelly Ryan Corp. he worked as a superintendent at Kiewit Construction based in Omaha. He was the owner of Ray’s Construction in Blair and Dean’s Carpentry in Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Glyn and Katurah Ray and Nels and Ester Nelson; his parents Lyle C. Ray and Lela R. Nelson Ray; sister Vickie Ray; brother-in-law Brad Stipp; along with numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol; sons: Richard and Ryan; grandsons: Brock and Jacob; brothers and sisters: Cheryl Stipp, Gordy (Pam) Ray, Terry (Jean) Ray, Jolene (Kevin) Jacobs, Patty (Dan) Flynn, Steve (Sharon) Ray; aunt Nina Ray; along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation to a local charity.
