Rachel was born on January 5th, 1962 to Patricia and Charles Elson in Abilene, Texas. Rachel graduated from Bellevue West Senior High in 1980. She went on to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she joined the Tri Delta Sorority and dance team, the Huskerettes. She then graduated from the Physical Therapy program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1986. She went on to pursue and received her Masters from Bellevue University.
Rachel initiated her career as a physical therapist at Jennie Edmundson Hospital where she made life-long friendships. She enjoyed several career advancements as part of the Methodist Health System. In 2004, she joined Fremont Health Hospital in Fremont, NE as the Director of Rehabilitation Services and later assumed the responsibilities as the long-term care Administrator for their extended care facility, Dunklau Gardens as well as Home Health and Hospice Services. She enjoyed the return to Methodist Health System when Fremont Health joined the Health System. Rachel enjoyed a 36 -year career with many special memories and relationships. It should be noted that Methodist Fremont Health created a special award in her honor called The Spirit of Caring. It reads: "In recognition of your leadership, commitment and passionate service to patients, residents and staff at Methodist Fremont Health and Dunklau Gardens." A staff member continues to be honored with this award annually.
Fate brought Rachel and her spouse Brian together and they were married in 1992. Rachel brought both Mercedes and Austin Elder to the marriage, and they added two additional children to the family with Courtney and Caden Reiman.
Since her forced retirement, Rachel enjoyed time with her family and six grandkids: Mya, Beckham, Evie, Hayes, Romee, and Scottie. She loved being able to walk and spend time with her dogs Samson, Harry Potter and Aria and spending 'precious moments' with her only sister Gretchen Engelkamp. Rachel never lost her positive outlook on life and modeling "living your best life" for others leaning on her faith in God.
Rachel Reiman, 63, of Blair, Nebraska, joined her Lord Savior on February 11, 2025 after an extended journey with cancer.
Rachel was predeceased by her parents, Patricia and Charles Elson; Her mother-in-law Barbara Reiman and sister-in-law Jennifer Reiman-Murphy.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Brian; children Mercedes Scribner, Austin Elder, Courtney Reiman and Caden (Emma) Reiman; grandchildren Mya Casey, Beckham and Evie Scribner, Hayes Penner, Romee and Scottie Reiman and stepmother Jean Williams-Elson.
Services will be held at First Lutheran Church, 2146 Wright Street, Blair NE at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Visitation will be held at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, 444 S. 17 Street, Blair, NE from 5-7 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Dunklau Gardens to continue to support the important work and impact this organization makes for our elders. Remember Always to "Live Your Best Life"!
