Lois J. Gnuse, 84 years of Blair, NE, passed away, June 20, 2025, at Nye Pointe in Fremont.

Lois was born November 19, 1940, at Oakdale, NE, to Wesley and Leora (Clark) Buckmaster. She lived in Norfolk before moving to Arlington in the early 1960s.

She married Donald Gnuse on May 27, 1967, in Arlington. They owned and operated Don’s Plumbing and Electric, Inc. in Arlington for 25 years. She also sold real estate for Pat Mallette in Blair, NE. Lois was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. She was a member of Arlington Lions Club and the Arlington Housing Authority President. She was the Cottonwood Association President in Blair. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and flowers.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny Burgess and Jim Huettner, Jr. of Kennard, NE, Jeannie Samuels of Fremont, and Joli (Mark) Gullion of Beatrice; sons, Reutzel (Patty) Gnuse of Cedar Bluffs, NE, Nick (Becky) Gnuse of Saranac, MI, and Ken Metzler of Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; brother, Butch Reutzel and sister, Sharon Patras.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.

The visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, June 27th at Reckmeyer Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday.

Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Arlington.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Nye Pointe.
