From obituary printed in the Thursday, July 5, 1934 Fort Calhoun Chronicle p. 1
Henry Micheels, who came to Washington County in 1868, died in Immanuel hospital, Omaha, June 28, at the age of 74 years.
Mr. Micheels lived for many years on the farm now owned by Carl Rohwer, and later purchased a farm in the Garrryown neighborhood, which he sold about fifteen years ago and moved to Florence. He was highly respected by all who knew him, and his many friends in this vicinity regret his departure.
He was a brother-in-law of Gus Lage of Fort Calhoun, and the father of Louie Micheels, well known here.
His wife is seriously ill in the same hospital in which he passed away.
The funeral services were held Sunday from the Peters Carlson mortuary in Omaha, and burial made in the Fort Calhoun cemetery. Many people from this community and also a number from other points attended the last rites for their old friend and neighbor.
