Darrell A. Schneekloth

Darrell Arthur Schneekloth was born in Bennington, Nebraska on February 21, 1937 to Arthur and Fern (Paulsen) Schneekloth. He passed away on September 28, 2025 at Oakland Heights in Oakland, Nebraska.

During his youth, he was active in 4-H and won numerous awards showing dairy cattle and showmanship. This led to his love of farming and dairy in later years. He attended a rural school in Washington County and graduated from Blair High School. He received an Agricultural Education Degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

Following graduation, he taught Vocational Agriculture at Creighton and Battle Creek School Districts. This is where he met Lois Fiala and they married on June 7, 1959, in Leigh, Nebraska. Darrell and Lois had 6 children.

They moved to Washington County, Nebraska to begin their farming and dairy career with his parents. In 1965, they moved to Oakland, Nebraska where they farmed with a dairy until their retirement in 2001. Darrell was proud of the dairy and was awarded the Milk Quality Award since its inception till his retirement for 25 years. One of only 2 dairies to receive that award consecutively. His fondest memories were working with the kids on the farm all those years.

At retirement, they moved to Lyons, NE where they lived until they moved to Oakland Heights in 2022.

Darrell was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Oakland, NE.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Survivors include his wife Lois, two daughters: Laurie (Robert) Christiansen of Omaha, Kelly (Todd) Goodwater of Blair; four sons: Kurt (Connie) Schneekloth of Oakland, Russell (Julie) Schneekloth of Fremont, Greg (Lynnette) Schneekloth of Richland and Joel (Krystal) Schneekloth of Akron, Colorado; sister: Joyce Graybill (Omaha); 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation 10-11am Friday, October 3, 2025 First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 North Davis Avenue, Oakland, NE 68045 followed at 11am by the Funeral Service at the church.
