Charlotte Ann Gottsch, age 87, from Elkhorn, Nebraska died peacefully entering her Saviour’s arms April 15, 2026, in Overland Park, KS with family by her side.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday April 23nd 2026 at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair Nebraska. Graveside services will follow in the Kennard Cemetery. Charlotte was born October 8, 1938 in Dunlap, IA to Leonard and Regina (Stolz) Brummer. She moved to Kennard Nebraska as a child in 1947 where Leonard and Jean were owner/operators of the New Deal Bar until the early 70’s. Charlotte and her family lived above the bar and she attended and graduated from Kennard High School.

During high school she met and later married Mervyn Gottsch on September 4, 1956. Mervyn and Charlotte raised their 4 children on a family farm until Mervyn’s untimely death in 1984.

She later married Bernard (Pat) Gottsch, moving to Elkhorn, Nebraska where she lived until moving to Senior Care Homes in Overland Park, Kansas in June of 2025 to be closer to her great-grandchildren.

Charlotte loved her life on the farm. Her memories were filled with so many good times with family and friends, especially the infamous Card Club who spent at least a scheduled Saturday night together once a month and still to this day all remain great friends. When she moved to Elkhorn, Charlotte and Pat traveled often and she even took up golf, playing regularly. Charlotte loved her 6 grandchildren and especially her 13 great-grandchildren with almost living long enough to see her 14th born but at least got to know shortly before her death it is a girl. Her last months of her life were filled surrounded with the laughter and love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charlotte leaves her children: Steve Gottsch, Patricia Gottsch and Michelle (John) Dortch. Grandchildren: Adam Gottsch, Allison Gottsch, Angella (Major Joey) Sterbenz, Rachel (1st Sergeant Jason) Browning, Elizabeth (Jay) Lepley and Sarah (Jeremiah) Ishmael; great grandchildren: Lila, Grace, Bayli, Summer, Levi, Heidi, Hattie, Scarlett, Rhett, Vivi, Mervyn, William and Augustus; Brother Denny (Vickie) Brummer; along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Mervyn Gottsch and second husband Bernard (Pat) Gottsch, son Blake Gottsch, brothers and sisters-in-law Richard (Rhea) Brummer and Donald (Rosie) Brummer.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later distribution to local charities.
