James Michael Ray, 68, of Tabor, Iowa, died in Tabor on May 24, 2026. He was born on June 29, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his father, James William Ray.

He leaves his wife, Deann Marie (Martinmaas) Ray; children, Crystal (Taylor) Melby, Mike (Katie) Ray, Liz (Bob) Sheets, Nick Ray, Emily (Ashton) Luke and Angela (Noah) Meister; mother, Rose Mary (Auxier) Ray; sister, Gloria (Jim) Ramsey; 17 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Private interment will be held.

Memorials are suggested to the Ray family.
