LEON O. JENSEN, 77

Leon O. Jensen, 77, of Omaha, died in his sleep on Sunday, July 31, 2005.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Leon Jensen was the son of Fred and Leona Jensen of Blair. He was retired from the Safeway Stores, and served in the United States Navy, stationed in Hawaii. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, golfing, playing cards, and feeding the birds.

He leaves coutless friends at Village Green Town Homes, Chops Bowling Lanes, and the Keystone neighborhood.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Tom and Jodi Jensen of Madrid, Iowa, and Troy Jensen of Avoca, Iowa; daughters and sons-in -law, Linda and Don Merrill and Rita and Kelly Shadden, all of Omaha; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Kenneth Jensen of Blair; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Dottie; and a great-grandson, Tyis Thomas Botts of North Platte.

Memorials are suggested to the Henry Doorly Zoo or lauritzen Gardens.

JENSEN - - Leon O., age 77 years, Omaha. passed away in his sleep Sunday morning, July 31, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Leona Jensen, Blair, NE; his beloved wife of 47 years, Dottie; 7-month old great-grandson, Tyis Thomas Botts, North Platte, NE.

Survived by brother, Kenneth Jensen, Blair, NE; sons: Tom Jensen and wife, Jodi, Madtrid, IA; Troy Jensen, Avoca, IA; daughters: Linda Merrill and husband, Don, Omaha; Rita Shadden and husband, Kelly, Omaha; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; several wonderful nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.

Leon leaves countless friends at Village Green Town Homes, Chops Bowling Lanes, and Keystone Neighborhood.

He was retired from Safeway Stores, and served in the United States Navy, stationed in Hawaii. He was a member of the South Omaha Eagles, and enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, golfing, playing cards and feeding birds.

SERVICES Friday, 9:00 a.m. West Center Chapel. Interment Hillcrest, with Military honors by Benson VFW Post No. 2503. Memorials to Henry Doorly Zoo or Lauritzen Gardens.

VISITATION from 3:00 p.m. Thursday, with family receiving friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at West Center Chapel.
