Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 24, at Bethlehem Reformed Church in Freeman.

Allenton Aman was born Sept. 10, 1913, to Fred and Albina (Wahl) Aman in rural Freeman. He farmed in the Freeman area until his retirement in 1966. He served his community in many ways, serving on the school board for 12 years, as county commissioner for 12 years, county assessor for six years, mayor for six years, and councilman for two years. He was a charter member of the Freeman Hospital and a member of the board for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Kay Aman of Fremont; Fred and Fran Aman of Blair; and Larry Aman of Atlanta, Ga; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bill Verschaetse of Marshall, Minn.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother.

Memorials are suggested to the Children's Care Hospital and School in Sioux Falls, S.D., or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
