ANDREW HANSEN BURIED TUESDAY
RESIDENT OF BLAIR AND VICINITY 53 YEARS DIED SUNDAY, AGED 72
A resident of Blair and vicinity since 1882, Andrew Hansen, aged 72, died Sunday at his home here after being ill for only one week.
Andrew Hansen was born in (sp?) Sjaelland, Denmark, December 10, 1862, and was baptized and confirmed as a member of the Lutheran faith in that country. When about 20 years of age, he came to America, settling in the Orum neighborhood west of Blair.
FARMED 39 YEARS.
Here he was engaged in farming for 19 years, after which time he moved to a farm south of Blair, where he remained 20 years. In 1924 he retired and moved to Blair. Since the death of his wife in 1931, Mr. Hansen had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Lars Jaspersen, south of the city.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. Jaspersen and Lester Hansen. There are two brothers, Jorgan Hansen of Missouri Valley and Chris Hansen, a resident of Massachusetts.
Funeral services were held in Blair at First Lutheran Church Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. James N. Lund officiating. Miss Viola Hansen sang. Interment was in the Blair cemetery.
