Zachary T. Mundorf was born October 14, 1845, in Henderson county, Illinois, and died July 1, 1909. He enlisted in the war Feb’y 17, 1864, in Co. H 11th cavalry and was discharged Oct. 11, 1865. He was married to Miss Marcella Finch, February 1866. She passed from this life in 1867. To them were born one child, Hamibal Mundorf, of Pierce, Nebr. He was again married to Miss Elsena Johnson, Aug. 26, 1869. To this union ten children were born.

Z.T. Mundorf died at his home south of town last Thursday from a complication of pneumonia and Bright’s disease. The funeral was held from the home at 2 o’clock Saturday. Mr. Mundorf was a resident of Herman for many years and moved to Blair about two years ago. He was 64 years of age and leaves to mourn his loss a widow, four sons and four daughters.

Z. T. Mundorf died at his home on the farm south of town at 8 o’clock last Thursday evening after an illness of several months with Bright’s disease, which later developed into typhoid pneumonia. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church in this city at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. J. G. Shick officiating. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery. Deceased was born Oct. 14th, 1845 in Henderson county, Illinois, and was therefore in his 64th year when death claimed him. He enlisted in Co. H. 11th Ill. cavalry Feb. 17th, 1864 and served until the end of the war, being mustered out Oct. 11th, 1865. In Feb. ’66 he was married to Miss Marcella Finch who lived but about a year, giving birth to one son, Hannibal, who now lives at Pierce, Neb. August 27th, 1869 he was married to Miss Elsena Johnson, and to this union ten children were born two having died in infancy and a daughter, Marcella, passed away in July, 1906, aged 24 years. Besides the wife, there are now living Mrs. B. F. Souder of Beatrice, Mrs. B. F. Crowell of Lyons, Q. H. Mundorf of Pierce and Mrs. H. C. Banta, Mrs. E. R. Little, Samuel, Edson and George, all of Blair. He leaves also six brothers and one sister, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn the loss of a loving husband, a kind father and a loyal friend. The entire community extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

Z. Mundorf, who lived in the south part of town, died last Thursday night and the funeral was held from the residence on Saturday, interment being in the cemetery east of town.
