LINDA E. JOHNSON, 61
Funeral services for Linda E. Johnson, 61, of Blair, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. Mrs. Johnson died on Monday Oct. 12, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Linda E. Johnson was born Feb. 14, 1939, to William and Katherine (Bolken) Willms at Coleridge.
After her graduation from Coleridge High School in 1956, she attended Wayne State College for two years, and then taught school at Randolph for two years.
She then returned to Wayne State College and graduated in 1961.
From 1961 to 1971, she taught first grade at Western Hills School in Omaha.
On May 29, 1971, she married Nile Johnson at First Lutheran Church in Blair.
Mrs. Johnson worked as assistant librarian at Blair West Elementary School since 1987. She was past Matron of McKinley Chapter No. 161 Order of Eastern Star in 1977; Grand Officer of O.E.S. Grand Chapter in Nebraska in 1981; charter member and past president of all chapters of Beta Sigma Phi sorority of Blair and current active member; and member of P.E.O.
She is survived by her husband, Nile; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Beth Johnson of Lincoln; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Elroy Hefner, Coleridge; and Avis and Wendell Hefner of Sioux City, Iowa.
