Garlow Fred
President C. A. Schmidt, of the Blair State Bank, received a telegram the first of the week stating that his friend, Fred Garlow, son-in-law of the late Buffalo Bill, had died Sunday from Spanish influenza, and on Tuesday, he received another wire conveying the sad news that Mr. Garlow’s wife, Irma, had passed away as a result of heart trouble.
The Garlows leave three children in the care of Grandma Cody, who is about 73 years of age. Mr. Schmidt was a very intimate friend of the Cody family and had been a frequent visitor at the Cody home in Wyoming while the Colonel was alive and had enjoyed several hunting trips with the famous old scout.
Many Blair folks will remember Fred Garlow as he was here about two years ago with a feature film depicting Indian wars that Col. Cody had participated in.
Note: Since actual death date was not given, the news article date was used.
