Abby Austin Eggleston passed over at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Finnell, in Blair, on Saturday, March 28, 1914, aged 87 years and one month, after an illness covering a period of several years duration.

Abby Austin was born near Cowlesville, N.Y., February 28, 1827, and was married to John Eggleston at Alden, N.Y., on December 25, 1846. To this union four children were born, two of them having preceeded her to the Great Beyond. The two surviving are Orie Eggleston of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Thomas Finnell, of Blair.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. Esplin from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Finnell at two o'clock Monday afternoon and the remains were taken to Tekamah and laid to rest beside her husband who passed away sixteen years. ago.
