Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 1 at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Ethel Claire Andersen was born Sept. 29, 1911, in Brown County, Neb., to Evan J. Crone and Minnie Marie Blumenthal. She attended country school for eight years and then Ainsworth High School.

She lived on a ranch in Brown County until 1937, then she moved to the Washington County area where she spent the rest of her life.

She married Christian Andersen on Oct. 22, 1936, in Tekamah.

Mrs. Andersen was a loving mother who worked many long hours on the farm and caring for the children. She was a cook at the Campbell Soup Company in Fremont from 1957 until 1973, and also held numerous part time jobs as a sales clerk in local businesses in Blair after her retirement.

She enjoyed doing beautiful embroidery and the last few years she did china painting.

She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Cale and Brenda Andersen of Blair, Duane Andersen of Takamah, and Eugene Andersen of Mondamin, Iowa; three daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Kenneth Truhlsen, Alice and Wallace Plummer, and Helen and Clarence Sheets, all of Blair, daughter-in-law and husband Imogene and John Lutz of Blair; 34 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn McElgunn of Apple Valley, Calif., Willda Diefenbaugh of Merna, and Beryle Banker of Britt, Iowa, and three brothers, Floyd Crone of Ainsworth, Eldan Crone of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Laurel Crone of Grand Junction, Colo.

Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.

Services 10:30 am Thursday, 1st Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial at Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin 10 AM Wednesday, family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
