Mrs. Barbara Goll Passes Away

Mrs. Barbara Goll, aged 74 years, died at the home in this city Tuesday evening, following a stroke of paralysis received two weeks previously.

Barbara Fees was born in Heidelberg, Germany, Dec. 9, 1842, and was married to Jacob Goll, at Tekamah, July 4, 1881, her husband preceding her in death, ten years ago.

Deceased came to America 56 years ago; after her marriage she and her husband settled on a homestead north of Blair. Thirteen years ago they moved to this city where they resided until their respective deaths.

She was the mother of seven children, five of whom are living. Wm. Goll, of Calhoun, Mrs. Elizabeth Biffar, Amelia and Mary Goll living at home, and Mrs. Matilda Lindstrom, of Blair. There are 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; she was a member of the German Lutheran Church. Funeral was held at the home in Dexterville, Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Underwood of the Methodist Church officiating and interment made in Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. Jacob Goll died at 4:45 last evening from the results of a paralytic stroke received two weeks ago last Thursday. She was sitting in her chair by the stove just after supper when the stroke came, which almost completely paralyzed her left side. She was unconscious for a time but regained consciousness after a few hours and remained so until almost to the last moment.

The funeral will be held at the house in Dexterville at 2:30 tomorrow, Thursday, afternoon, Rev. W. H. Underwood officiating.

Barbara Fees was born in Heidelberg, Germany, Dec. 9, 1842, and was therefore just past 74 years of age. She came to this country with her brother in 1860 and a year later was married to Jacob Goll at Tekamah, Neb. They settled on the homestead north of Blair, which was their home until they retired thirteen years ago, moving to this city. Mr. Goll’s death occurred ten years ago Monday, Jan. 15.

She is survived by five children, W. R. Goll, of Ft. Calhoun, Mrs. Theo. Biffar, who lives north of town, Mrs. A. Linstrom, of this city, and Amelia and Mary who lived at home with their mother. Also 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jacob Goll, a pioneer resident, died at her home in this city, Tuesday, at the age of 74 years. Barbara Fees was born in Heidelburg, Germany, and came to the United States in company with her brother, fifty-six years ago. She was married to Jacob Goll at Tekamah the following year, and the couple settled on a homestead north of Blair where they resided until thirteen years ago, when they moved to Blair. The deceased leaves the following children: W. R. Goll of Ft. Calhoun, Mrs. A. Lindstrom, Mrs. Theodore Biffar, both of Blair, and two daughters, Amilia and Mary at home. Funeral was held today, Rev. Underwood officiating. Burial in the Blair Cemetery
