The remains of Mrs. Hannah Gossard were shipped to Herman from Valentine, Nebr., last Saturday for interment in the New England Cemetery.

Mrs. Gossard was born in Pennsylvania in 1840 and died Feb. 3, 1916, being 75 years and 7 months old.

She was married to Wm. Gossard at Hayworth, Ill. To this union ten children were born, six of whom are still living, and, excepting one daughter, attended the funeral at Herman.

Mr. and Mrs. Gossard came to Herman in 1881 and settled on the farm just north of the New England church and lived here for about ten years. While living here gave one acre of their land for a cemetery in which they are now both buried, Mr. Gossard having been buried here in 1905.

Services were conducted at the grave by Rev. Geo. Smith.
