Betty J. Hawley, 87, of Fremont died Monday, March 12, 2012, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Blair and was raised in Fremont, graduating from Fremont High School in 1942. Betty Rhea married Hiram Hawley on July 7, 1942, in Wisner. He died Sept. 27, 1990. She was the business administrator for Drs. Jakeman, Nelson and Byers and then was a provider relations person for Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance for 18 years until her retirement.

She was a member of Fremont Golf Club, the Fremont Altrusa Club, Joslyn Guild and the Fremont Area Art Association.

The graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont with the Revs. Leland Foreman and Gundar Lamberts officiating. There will be no visitation.

Dugan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
