Dana Student Dies Following Gun Accident

Mr. David Weinman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ehrhard M. Weinman of Phillipsburg, Kansas, died on Thursday, February 9 as a result of an accidental gunshot wound.

Weinman, a freshman, at Dana, was accidently shot while spending the mid-semester break at his home in Kansas last January. Following the accident, he was reportedly doing as well as could be expected but early this week was rushed to a Kansas City hospital for emergency treatment where he died on Thursday.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 11, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Stuttgart, Kansas.

A Memorial Student Fund has been established at Dana by friends and members of the family.
