AGED RESIDENT DIES WEDNESDAY
CHARLES LAKE LIVED IN BLAIR FOR FIFTY YEARS.
Charles Elliott Lake died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Harding, on north Maple street yesterday morning. The deceased was born November 7, 1847 at Detroit, Michigan, and his childhood days were spent in and near that city.
On September 25, 1879, he was united in marriage with Julia Anna Born of Monroe, Michigan, later moving to Elkhorn, Nebraska, where they lived until 1880 when they removed to Blair. To this union eleven children were born, two dying in infancy while a son, Charles, died at the age of twenty-four years. His wife preceded him in death on January 4, 1910. Surviving him are five daughters, Mrs. Mary Christiansen of Omaha, Mrs. Emma Harding of this city, Mrs. Martha Bashnick of Benson, Mrs. Della Christiansen of Orum and Mrs. Katie Akins of Goodrich, Minnesota; also three sons, Albert Ray of Modale, Iowa, Edwin George of Sioux City, and Donald Henry of Orum. A sister, Mary Foster, of Minot, North Dakota, and one brother, Allan Lake, of Savannah, Mo., also survive him.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, with Rev. Carl G. Bader, officiating, after which interment will be made in Blair cemetery.
