Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 27, at the First United Methodist Church for Fred Gutschow, who died at the Memorial Community Hospital on December 23, 1989, at the age of 80. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.

Fred C. Gutschow was born on November 23, 1909, at Blair, Nebraska, to Chris and Marie Nielsen Gutschow. He married Lois Collins on September 28, 1933. He farmed in the Blair area and also worked for Korshoj Construction for several years.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jenny.

Fred is survived by four daughters, Peggy (Mrs. Ray) Lantry, Sheran Hibbs, Luella (Mrs. Ronald) Jenkins and Lynn (Mrs. Fred) Stirek, all of Blair, Nebraska. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Wilford “Bill” Gutschow, Blair, and Chris Gutschow, Fremont, Nebraska; four sisters, Erna Engelke and Margaret Metzler, both of Blair, and Cathy Gieselmann and Beulah Johnson both of Fremont.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
