Miss Dorothy Gray Died on Coast Last Week
Miss Dorothy Gray, a native of Blair and a long-time resident here, died last week at San Jose, California, following an extended illness. She was a resident of a P.E.O. Home at San Jose.
Miss Gray, who was 72 years of age, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gray, early-day residents. She was the couple’s only child.
She grew up in Blair and graduated from Blair High School. She also attended Dana College for a time.
Later, upon completion of her education, she taught school and for many years was a member of the Fremont, Nebraska, teaching staff. Some years ago she moved to California where she continued teaching in the Burlingame, California, school system. After retirement, she began her residence at the P.E.O. Home in San Jose.
Miss Gray had no immediate relatives in this vicinity and full details of her life have not been available. The Enterprise is informed that the body is to be cremated and the ashes will be returned to Blair. This, however, cannot be confirmed.
