Dorothy B. Wangberg, 86

Former Blair resident Dorothy Boyer Wangberg, 86, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Dec. 14, 2003, in Phoenix.

Her remains have been cremated, and interment will be at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Phoenix at a later date.

Dorothy Boyer Wangberg was born Nov. 17, 1917, in West Point to Ben and Matilda (Mack) Boyer. She attended Guardian Angels School, graduating in 1934.

On June 5, 1935, she married Robert C. Holt in Paxton. The couple had three daughters. After her husband’s death in 1940, she held various jobs in the war effort.

On April 13, 1944, she married Stan Wangberg of Oakland. They moved to Blair, and the couple had a son and daughter. In 1957, the family moved to Phoenix. Mrs. Wangberg worked as a top salesperson for Switzers in the Park Central Mall for more than 20 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Roberta “Bobbie” Holt McKenzie and husband, Don, of Kearney; Patricia Holt Mira and husband, Francisco, of Madrid, Spain; Mary Holt de la Fuente of Phoenix, and Linnea Wangberg Ickes and husband, Bill, of Phoenix; son and daughter-in-law, Kerry Wangberg and Elaine Cardwell of Phoenix and 13 grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Guardian Angels School Library in West Point.
