Pioneer is Dead at 87
James Vaughan of Fort Calhoun Dies: Rites Being Held Today
James Vaughan, 87, Washington county pioneer who came to Fort Calhoun in 1866, died in Blair Tuesday after an illness of six weeks. Brother of the late Lou Vaughan, Blair architect, he was a carpenter and builder at Fort Calhoun for many years.
Funeral services, in charge of the Sievers Funeral Home, are being held at 2 p.m. today at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian church. Burial will be in the cemetery there.
