Services Held Here Saturday For Man Killed In Mexico
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Bendorf Funeral Home for Vernon Vizina, 41, of Escondido, Calif. The Rev. Geo. Palleson officiated with interment in Blair Cemetery.
Mr. Vizina was robbed and killed while on a vacation trip in Mexico. Officials in Mexico arrested a man, who confessed killing and robbing Mr. Vizina and led them to his shallow grave in the hills.
Mr. Vizina was born at Sidney, Nebr., and attended the Long Creek School when his parents lived on a farm southeast of Blair.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stormy Vizina of Escondido; a brother, Virgil; and a sister, Mrs. Venda DeBrunner, both of Chula Vista, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Chris Wulf of Blair.
