Mrs. Charles Wilderson Dies At Age 75; Funeral Held Tuesday
Mrs. Charles Wilderson, 75, longtime Kennard resident, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jay Stewart, at Kennard.
The funeral was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell Mortuary in Blair. Officiating was the Rev. Melvon Ireland of First Methodist Church, with interment following in Kennard Cemetery.
As Ellen Barger, Mrs. Wilderson was born Mar. 15, 1879, at Mondamin, Ia. She and Mr. Wilderson were married at Logan, Ia., Aug. 27, 1893. He was a carpenter by trade, and they lived in Omaha and Fort Calhoun before moving to Kennard 35 years ago.
Mr. Wilderson died Aug. 20, 1953.
Surviving Mrs. Wilderson are three sons, William Wilderson of Omaha, Chester Wilderson and Charles (Bud) Wilderson, both of California; and six daughters, Mrs. Jay Stewart (Nellie) of Kennard, Mrs. George Jackson (Jeanette) of Blair, Mrs. Herbert Jones (Marjorie) of Fort Calhoun, Mrs. Henry Helmsing (Geneva), Mrs. Lawrence Tetters (Marie) and Mrs. Margaret Ruf, all of Omaha. There are 25 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Note: Ellen is buried in Blk 4 Lot 4 Sp 4 in the Kennard Cemetery.
