Mabel M. Kastrup, 85, of Blair, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 11 at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Mabel Most Kastrup was born on April 13, 1927, in Laurel to Forrest L. and Emma (Rabdau) Most.
She graduated from Laurel High School in 1943.
On November 2, 1943, she married Kai Kastrup in Papillion.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Dana College and a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
She taught at Wranch, March and McCarthy country schools in Washington County, Sherman School in Omaha and then the Blair Community Schools, from which she retired in 1995.
She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa and Delta Kappa Gamma teaching sororities and First Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kai; beloved son, Kim; seven brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Don Clark of Logan, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda Kastrup of Blair; eight grandchildren, Bandi Rodenburg, Andrea Lundergard, Michael Clark, Denise Bland, Joel Clark, Bryce Kastrup, Kurtis McManigal and Candace Daugherty; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be directed to Crowell Home, Memorial Community Hospital, First Lutheran Church or the Washington County Food Pantry.
