Pioneer Man Buried
Charles Boschult Was One of County’s Early settlers
Funeral services for Charles Boschult were conducted at the Salem Lutheran church in Fremont Monday afternoon with the Rev. F. C. Schuldt of Hastings, officiating, after which interment was made in the Fontanelle cemetery. Mr. Boschult died at his home at Long Beach, Calif., on October 14 following a short illness.
The deceased was born in Germany, September 8, 1846, and came to American when he was a young man. He located in Illinois and when the Civil War broke out, he enlisted and served for some time with an Illinois regiment. Later he came to Nebraska and located on a farm at the southwest edge of Fontanelle where he lived until about twenty years ago. He was a pioneer of Washington county and held a wide acquaintance. He removed from Fontanelle to Fremont where he lived until about six years ago when he moved to California.
