Ray A. Wright, 79 of Blair died Thursday, March 20, 1997, at his home.

Services were Monday at the Arlington Community Church. Rev. Lee Milligan officiated. Burial was in the Kennard Cemetery.

Wright was born Dec. 24, 1917 in Kennard to Alva Earl and Flossie Mae (Rose) Wright. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1935. After high school, he did carpenter work in Elkhorn for Adolph Otte. On June 27, 1941, he married Virginia Sorensen in Omaha. They farmed and fed cattle near Arlington from 1943-48. In 1949, they moved to Millard where they continued to farm and feed cattle. In 1968, they moved back to Arlington, until retiring and moving to Blair in -------

He was a 4-H leader in Douglas County for many years and a 50-year member of Hiriam Masonic Lodge 52 in Arlington.

Survivors are his wife, Virginia of Blair; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Stephen Skinner of Omaha; Sandra and Gary Fishko of Loveland, Colo. and Susan and Allan Arp of Kennard; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Steven and Barbara Wright of Omaha; six grandchildren, Janelle, Leslie, Sarah, Matthew, Jason and Michelle; two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Colby and a brother, Russell Wright of Seabeck, Wash.

Casket bearers were his six grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Burt-Washington County Home Health Care or the Arlington Community Church.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
