Services Held Monday For Curtis Winn
Services were held Monday, April 4, at the First Lutheran Church in Fremont for Curtis L. Winn, who died last Thursday evening when his pick-up was in a collision with a freight train. Winn, who was 26 at the time of his death, was on his way home from work at the Hormel plant when the accident occurred.
Pastor Hansen of First Lutheran in Fremont and Pastor Schroeder of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington officiated at the services. Interment was at Kennard Cemetery.
Curtis L. Winn was born at Red Oak, Iowa, October 31, 1950. His family later moved to Bennington where he attended school.
He married Sandra Gehrk on October 26, 1968 and the couple lived in Omaha until three and one-half years ago. At that time they moved with their family to Fremont where they resided at the time of his death.
Curtis Winn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra and three daughters, Raquel, Tanya, and Nichole. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Winn, Bennington; one sister, Mrs. Joe (Cynthia) Hinkel, Bennington; three brothers, Raymond Winn and Larry Winn of Fremont, and Ross Winn of Omaha; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Winn of Red Oak, Iowa, also survive him.
Pallbearers for the services were Steve Snover, Dan Hoppes, Chuck Voss, Tom Walling, Ed Olsson, and Mike Harraill.
