SCHEER DIES AT ARLINGTON
FRED SCHEER, PROMINENT FARMER AND ORCHARDIST, DIED MONDAY
Resident of the vicinity northeast of Arlington almost his entire life, Fred Scheer, 78, prominent farmer and orchardist, died unexpectedly Monday.
Mr. Scheer is survived by five sons, Alfred, Wallace, Otis, Oscar and Obert, all of whom live within a radius of two miles of their father’s home; five daughters, Mrs. Leonard Echtenkamp of Fremont, Mrs. Freda Walkenhorst of Arlington, Mrs. Lily Krohn, Mrs. Wilma Krohn and Mrs. Helen Giesler, all of Hooper. Other survivors include a brother, William Scheer of Arlington, and a sister, Mrs. Amanda Giesling of Fremont.
Funeral services are being held at 2 p.m. today at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. These rites are being preceded by a brief service at 1:30 at the home. The Rev. Carl Hellman is officiating and burial will be in the church cemetery.
