Violet Mann, 89

Former Lincoln resident Violet Mann, 89 of Blair, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007.

Funeral services are 9 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home at 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the funeral home, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

Violet Simmons was born Dec. 29, 1917, in Centerville, Iowa, to Joseph and Ersila (Franki) Simmons.

She was married to Harlan Mann.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Marilyn and Jim Appleby of Elk City, and Von Mann of Des Moines, Iowa, and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Ed Mann; daughter, Carolyn Olson; grandson, Mark Crewdson; three brothers; and two sisters.
