Mrs. R. Christensen, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hemming Petersen was born in Souderby, Denmark February 24, 1875, and died at the Swedish Mission hospital in Omaha, Neb. following an operation for hernia October 27, 1922, aged 47 years, 8 months and 3 days. She came to America with her parents 47 years ago, and grew to womanhood in the Rose Hill neighborhood, and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances. She was married to Rasmus Christensen February 24, 1899, and to this union 6 children were born. In 1900 they moved to Greeley county, Neb, where they lived on a farm two years. While living there the oldest daughter, Carrie, died when 18 months old. They later returned to Washington county where they lived around Orum and Rose Hill until 7 years ago when they moved to Omaha where they have since made their home. On June 6, 1920 the second daughter, Mrs. Clara Crumb died, leaving a little daughter 9 days old which she was tenderly cared for until the time of her sickness and death. She leaves to mourn her death her grief-stricken husband, one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Crumb; a pair of twin boys, Nels and Clarence; Leslie, 9 years old; and the sweet little granddaughter, Arlene, her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hemming Petersen; 3 brothers, Peter X. Petersen, Lyons, Nebr.; J. L. and L. P. Petersen, Blair, Neb.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Fred Anderson, Herman, Neb.; Mrs. George Broderson, Fort Morgan, Colo.; Mrs. Albert Petersen and Mrs. Shurley Petersen, Blair; also a large circle of relatives, neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held at the Rose Hill church Monday afternoon, October 30 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Staby, pastor of the Danish Lutheran church of Omaha, and burial made in the Rose Hill cemetery.

Christiana Petersen, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hemming Petersen was born in Sonderby, Denmark, Feb. 24, 1875 and died at the Swedish Mission hospital in Omaha, Nebr., following an operation for hernia, Oct. 27, 1922, aged 47 years 8 months and 8 days.
She came to America with her parents forty-seven years ago and grew to womanhood in the Rose Hill neighborhood and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances.
She was married to Rasmus Christiansen Feb. 24, 1899 and to this union six children were born. In 1900 they moved to Greeley county, Nebr., where they lived on a farm two years. While living there the oldest daughter, Carrie, died when eighteen months old. They later returned to Washington county where they lived near Orum and Rose Hill until seven years ago when they moved to Omaha where they have since made their home.

Funeral services were held at the Rose Hill church, Monday afternoon, Oct. 30, at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev. Staby, pastor of the Danish Lutheran church of Omaha and burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.

FORMER WASHINGTON CO. LADY DIES IN OMAHA
Mrs. Rasmus Christiansen died at the Swedish Mission hospital, Omaha, Friday October 27, following an operation for hernia, aged 47 years, 8 months and 3 days.
Christena Petersen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hemming Petersen, was born in Souderby, Denmark February 24, 1875, and came with her parents to America when a small child. She grew to womanhood in the Rose Hill neighborhood and became the wife of Rasmus Christiansen on February 24, 1899. She became the mother of six children: Carrie, now deceased; and Mrs. Clara Crumb, who died in 1920, leaving a daughter nine days old; twin sons, Nels and Clarence; Leslie, and Mrs. William Crumb.
In 1900 Mrs. Christiansen went with her family to Greeley county, Nebr., where they resided on a farm for two years, and then returned to Washington county and lived in the Rose Hill and Orum neighborhoods until seven years ago when they removed to Omaha.
The body was taken to Rose Hill Monday afternoon where the funeral was held, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Staby, pastor of the Danish Lutheran church of Omaha, and interment was made in the little cemetery near the home of her childhood. The funeral was largely attended by friends who knew and loved her all her life, and realized that a good woman had gone to her eternal reward.
Besides the children, she leaves to mourn her demise her husband, her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hemming Petersen, three brothers, Peter X. Petersen of Lyons, Nebr.; J. L. and L. P. Petersen of Blair; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Anderson, Herman; Mrs. George Broderson, Ft. Morgan, Colo.; Mrs. Albert Petersen and Mrs. Shurley Petersen, Balir; and the little granddaughter, the child of her deceased daughter, Mrs. Crumb, whom she had tenderly cared for and given a mother’s love and attention, as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
The sympathy of many friends is extended to the sorrowing relatives in their hour of grief.
