LOUIS ANSON REDDING
Louis Anson Redding was born July 17, 1861, at Pikes Peak, Colo., and died at his home four miles south of Blair, May 5, 1925.
He was married to Clara Schaffer, August 3, 1883 at Griswold, Iowa. To this union was born nine children, five dying in infancy. Those left to mourn his loss are his wife; two sons, Frank and Willie; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas of Mo. Valley, Iowa and Mrs. Case of Craig, Neb. He also leaves eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, five brothers and one sister.
The funeral service was held from the M.E. church on last Sunday afternoon at 3:30, the pastor of the church officiating. Interment was made at the Blair cemetery.

Lois Anson Redding (sic) died at his farm home southeast of Blair on Tuesday, May 5th (sic), after a lingering illness. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church at 3:30 Sunday afternoon, Rev. O.U. McProud officiating. Mr. Redding was born at Pikes Peak, Colorado, July 17th, 1861 (sic) so was almost 64 years of age. He was married to Miss Clara Schaffer at Griswold, Iowa, August 3rd, 1883, and have (sic) lived in this county for some twenty years. Nine children were born to them, five of whom died in infancy.
Note: In the 1860's, Pike's Peak, Colorado was a landmark. When Lewis Anson was born, however, gold had not yet been discovered, and nearby towns like Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs, and Cripple Creek were not yet founded.
