TEEN FROM HERMAN KILLED IN CRASH
A 17-year-old from Herman, Neb., died early Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash in Washington County.
Another teen was taken into custody.
Killed was Michael W. Rerucha, who was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Matthew A. Kay of Herman.
Rerucha, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at Creighton University Medical Center.
Kay, who was not wearing a seat belt, was treated at a hospital in Blair and released. He was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide and willful reckless driving.

MICHAEL W. RERUCHA, 17
Michael W. Rerucha, 17, of Herman, died Aug. 17, 2004, in an automobile accident in Washington County near Blair.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.
Michael W. Rerucha was born March 28, 1987, in Omaha to Robert and Pam (Heddles) Rerucha. He had lived in Blair since 1995, and had lived in Herman for the past year.
Michael had completed his sophomore year at Blair High School, and was getting ready to enter his junior year at Tekamah-Herman High School.
He is survived by his mother, Pam Rerucha; two sisters, Jennifer and Jessica Rerucha, all of Herman; grandmother, Mable Heddles of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandparents, Richard and Virginia Rerucha of David City; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
