Vivienne Ella McDonald, 91, of Omaha died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Brighton Gardens in Omaha.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.Visitation will be Thursday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home beginning at 6 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Vivienne Ella Watkins was born May 12, 1922, in Blair to John and Ruth (Rodman) Watkins.
In 1927, the family moved to Fort Calhoun, where she attended grade school and high school, graduating in 1939.
She worked for JCPenney until her marriage to Allen McDonald in 1944. After the couple’s wedding, they moved to the McDonald family homestead and lived there until Mr. McDonald's death in 1977.
Mrs. McDonald then moved to Blair until 2007 at which time she moved to Autumn Pointe Assisted Living in Fort Calhoun.
In the spring of 2011, Vivienne moved to Brighton Gardens of Omaha to be near her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Allen; daughter, Glenda Sams; one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Melvin Hatcher of Omaha; grandchildren: Shelly (Jeff) Marshall, Bradley (Crystal) Sams, Meghan Armistead, Chris (Michelle) Hatcher and Melinda (Chris) Figueroa; great-grandchildren: Maison Marshall, Nikolaus, Catherine and Audrey Sams, Zachary and Annabelle Hatcher, Dru Cotton, Branigan Figueroa and Wyatt Armistead; step-grandchildren: Ryan, Caiden and Gavin Figueroa; and son-in-law James Sams.
Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Blair.
