Jens C. Hansen, Orum Storekeeper, Died Suddenly
58-Year-Old Man Was Vacationing at Gavins Dam
Jens C. Hansen, operator of the Orum rural store for the past fifteen years, died suddenly Thursday at Yankton, South Dakota at the Sacred Heart Hospital of that place. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
He was born in Blair December 16, 1910 and was 58 years of age. He was the son of the late Edward O. Hansen.
He was married November 22, 1935 to Emma A. Matzen and they devoted their lives to business and farming activities around the Orum area.
Surviving are his wife, Emma, and a son Edward H. Hansen and one grandson Todd.
He is also survived by five sisters. They are Mrs. Clarence Toelke (Anna) of Fremont; Mrs. Floyd Williver (Esther) of Omaha; Mrs. Axel Hansen (Emma) of Blair; Mrs. John Taylor, Sr., (Meta) of Fremont and Mrs. Edna Evans, of Omaha.
Funeral services will be held this (Monday) afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran church at Orum. The Rev. Arden Dorn will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Stork, Robert Toebben, Kenneth Rahlfs, Howard L. Taylor, Gus Rolland and James P. Taylor.
