FORMER KENNARD WOMAN DIED IN OMAHA WEDNESDAY
Mrs. Geneva Helmsing, a former resident of the Blair and Kennard areas, died Wednesday night at the Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. Mrs. Helmsing was the wife of Harry Helmsing, formerly of Kennard but now of Omaha. The Helmsings lived at 3031 Stone Avenue in Omaha.
Mrs. Helmsing, prior to her marriage was Geneva Wilderson. She was born November 3, 1900 at Modale, Iowa but moved to the Kennard area many years ago where she lived for a number of years before moving to Omaha.
She is survived by her husband and by four sons. They are Leo Helmsing, of St. Louis, Mo., Jack Helmsing, of Pueblo, Colorado; Harry Helmsing, Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; and Howard Cook of Kennard.
Two brothers and four sisters also survive. The brothers are William Wilderson, of Ft. Calhoun and Chester Wilderson, of California.
The sisters are: Mrs. Nell Stewart of Kennard; Mrs. Margie Jones, of Arlington; Mrs. Jeanette Jackson, of Blair; and Mrs. Margaret Ruf, of Omaha.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Methodist Church in Kennard. The Rev. Richard Atherton, of Blair, conducted the service and burial was made in the Kennard cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.
Pallbearers at the service were all nephews of the deceased woman. They were Joe Stewart, George Stewart, Bruce Stewart, Lloyd McCann, Vernon Christiansen, Milo Stork and Neal Andreasen.
