Mrs. Mary Nielsen, lifetime resident of Washington County, died at her home at 1557 Butler Street last Wednesday, July 22nd. She was 79 years old.

Mrs. Nielsen was born at Kennard February 16th, 1891. She grew up in that vicinity and was married to Miller Nielsen. The couple farmed for many years. Her husband preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Niels Christensen (Ruth) of Kennard and Mrs. Jack Maher (Irene) of California. A brother, Andrew Christiansen, lives at Kennard.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 25th at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard with the Rev. Arden Dorn conducting the service. Burial was made in Prairie View Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Mortuary of Blair.

The pallbearers were William Maher, John Maher, Larry Christensen, Daniel Christensen, Mark Christensen and Richard Gliem.
