GEORGE CALDWELL BURIED THURSDAY

Mr. George Van Buren Caldwell passed away at the Odd Fellows Home at York, Nebraska on Sunday, December 29th. He had resided there less than a year.

On December 18, 1881 he was born in Blair to Mr. and Mrs. James Caldwell. He married Thelma Crosby on September 27, 1922 at Blair. They were the parents of two sons, Eldon D. Caldwell of San Rafael, California and James A. Caldwell of Grand Island. His wife passed away in June of 1954. Three grandchildren also survive him.

Mr. Caldwell was employed in various grocery stores in Blair until he and his wife bought the Dexterville Grocery.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home at 2 P.M. on Thursday, January 2nd. The Rev. Dale Westadt officiated and burial was in the Blair cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carroll Thornburgh, LeRoy Creach, Elmer Anderson, Robert Rasmussen, Fred Peck and Bill Gustin, all members of the Odd Fellow Lodge.
